Historian

1.    The historian is responsible for receiving all applications for membership to this society, and examines the same for completeness and accuracy to verify the lineal descent from a Mayflower Pilgrim who traveled aboard the Mayflower in 1620.

2.    He/she answers all queries regarding lineage and genealogy from applicants and members.

3.    He/she maintains a file of all documents and supporting papers tendered to him/her, and keeps a record of all certifications and rejections made by him/her during the application process. After examining applications and verifying the same, he/she forwards them to the Historian General in Plymouth for final approval, and the assigning of general numbers by the Historian General. Upon receiving approved applications from the Historian General, he/she issues the certificate of membership with the state number.

4.    Upon completion of his/her term of office, or resignation, the historian shall relinquish all his/her documents, records, and other Society property to the succeeding historian.
