Judge Cole spoke of the Mayflower Voyage, and that the Pilgrims came with their families to settle this new land, while many earlier voyagers to these shores came for personal gain and glory. The Pilgrims declined to return to England when they could easily have done so. Organizing a constitutional form of government reflected their foresight and knowledge of earlier Colonization failures because there was no government which these earlier peoples subscribed to. He commented about an inscription on Governor Bradford's monument: “Do not barely relinquish that to which the Fathers have with such great difficulty attained."

 

Mr. Lewis Neff had just returned from abroad, where he had established definite proof of genealogical data which theretofore had been esteemed as only probable. He then presented the proposed officers of the Wyoming Society, which were readily accepted by those present.

 

Governor General Allen then made an impressive presentation of the Wyoming Charter. It was then passed to each individual for personal inspection.
